Changing of the Guard

This morning is the first fall feeling morning of this year. Although many of these mornings mark my years, each one is newly inspiring to enjoy the seasons and the change of mood they bring. Catches me off guard every year.

Are They Really?

Regardless of what position one takes on any subject, the 'otherness' of a different position allows our primal fear of the unknown to assume generalizations about the 'others'. Liberals and Conservatives assuage their fears by chanting to themselves: "The 'others' really do have nefarious, ulterior motives." What a crock of shit. When properly viewed, people are so vastly similar to each other that any mention of how different this group or that group is, is dwelling upon insignificant minutia. There are bad people, but they rarely, if ever, identify themselves as such in a unified club.

Got The Message?!?

Wow. Since god controls everything, one thing is VERY clear. God hates people who live near large bodies of water. If he only sends death and destruction once in a while, people just don't get it. But when he comes up with a huge, majorly destructive tsunami and multiple category 4 hurricanes within the span of a year, no one can mistake that message: Live by the ocean, go to hell.

A Day of Prayer

I just now returned home from the desert(not figurative) and found out that GW had decreed that today was a national day of prayer. In the wake of Katrina, he comes up with Halliburton and prayer. The Halliburton move, while it may be the case that this company is best suited for the job, is politically imbecillic. The day of prayer is absolute anathama. Does this president pander to the stupid? The religious? The one and the same? This day is also the birthday of B.B. King, who is now eighty years old. If I was president, today would be a national day of prayer that B.B. King doesn't die.
