Monkeys Typing Shakespeare

At a young age, most of us english speakers hear of the mathematical certainty that given enough time, a large, perhaps infinite number of monkeys with typewriters (a mechanical word processor for those too young to recall the efficiency of such a device compared with stone and chisel) would come up with Shakespeare's sonnets, plays, etc.

WRONG!!!!

The monkeys produced Intelligent Design. And unfortunately, the other monkeys like it because their monkey-hood turns out to be intentional, not simply another also ran of a species.

I understand the emotional yearning to feel special in an overwhelmingly large universe. But we ought not base our intellectual understanding of reality on feelings. That leads to all kinds of bad assumptions and conclusions.

"God told me to skin you alive."

Intelligent Design: does it refer to the maker or the made? Obviously, either comes up a tad short.
